About SRC
Learn about our history, mission, vision, and the team driving systemic change across Uganda.
Our Background & History
Building on Woord en Daad’s successful five-year track record of operating a multi-country Shared Resource Centre in West Africa—which managed approximately EUR 25 million in grants for various NGOs while strengthening the financial management capacity of participating local partners—it was considered highly feasible to replicate this success in Uganda, with a stronger focus on localisation and sustainability.
To ensure long-term sustainability and respond to the need for greater Southern leadership, it was decided that this social enterprise would be co-owned by local organisations. This brought together the original promoters of the Shared Resource Centre: TUNADO, a local umbrella organisation, and Woord en Daad, a Northern partner. By combining their complementary expertise, experience, and contextual knowledge, the two organisations laid the foundation for the creation of this valuable entity.
