MACBEE Project: Integrating Coffee, Macadamia & Beekeeping
Project Context
The MACBEE Project promotes a climate-resilient coffee farming ecosystem by integrating coffee, macadamia, and beekeeping in the Greater Masaka region. Through this agroforestry approach, the project seeks to strengthen farmers’ livelihoods, diversify income opportunities, enhance biodiversity, and improve the profitability and resilience of coffee farming systems.
SRC's Role
SRC strengthens farmers’ and cooperatives’ capacity to meet sustainability and market requirements (CD3R, Rainforest Alliance, EUDR). Additionally, SRC contributes to national-level agroforestry efforts by facilitating the National Agroforestry Strategy and supporting the multi-stakeholder Agroforestry Movement.
